Rethinking fast charging. To this end, we are planning, constructing, financing and operating a network of fast-charging stations that are supplied directly with electricity from local renewable energy sources. In this way, we are reducing fast-charging prices, easing the burden on the electricity grid and making sustainable mobility accessible to everyone.
The problems we solve
High charging costs
Electricity from the grid and little competition in the region make fast charging expensive. By directly supplying local green electricity, we can reduce fast-charging costs for charging customers by up to 30 per cent.
Low area coverage
Fast chargers are often lacking where they are needed. We are creating charging infrastructure in business parks and in suburban and rural areas, including for e-trucks and regional commercial transport.
Network bottlenecks
New fast-charging points place an additional burden on the electricity grid. Our charging locations obtain their electricity directly from renewable energy plants and can be realised faster and more cost-effectively without expanding the grid. In addition, forced curtailment is reduced as charging current is consumed before it is fed into the grid.
Our solution
DirectCharge plans, develops, operates, and finances fast charging stations directly at or in the immediate vicinity of renewable energy plants. Our locations are conveniently located throughout Germany and are supplied with locally generated green electricity. This allows us to avoid grid congestion and enable affordable fast charging for everyone.
